August 2018 New Heights Newsletter

In the August 2018 edition of the New Heights Newsletter, Pastor Dan reflects on our coming move, there are upcoming church events and more!

The big news around New Heights this summer is our move to a new location. Moving our church has caused me to pause and reflect on our past history. Did you know that this will be our fourth location in the history of New Heights?  New Heights Community Church launched in November of 2003 in the gym at Hilltop Elementary School.  In 2007, we moved to the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights.  We stayed there until May of 2016 when we moved to Mt Bethel Church on 70th Street and Carmen Avenue.

Now God has opened a door of opportunity for us to share facilities with Crossroads Church Inver Grove Heights. Crossroads is located at the corner of Upper 55th Street and Babcock Trail.  Their Heritage Chapel which was the original church built on the corner in the 1800′s, is available for us to rent on Sunday mornings. Let’s go into our time at Crossroads with an attitude of expectation.  Ephesians 5:16 “Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days” (NLT). Join me in praying that New Heights makes the most of this new opportunity for the Kingdom of God!

Our new mailing address will be: New Heights Community Church, 5590 Babcock Trail, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077

Bring the pens next Sunday and leave them in the bin on the resource table. We also need volunteers (Go to to sign up to volunteer online).
  • Fall Kickoff Sunday - Sunday Sept 16 during our worship service we’ll kickoff the new church year. (Friend, Relative, Associate at work or school, Neighbor) to join you!

After a summer break, we are looking forward to gathering again in groups to get to God and each other better by studying God’s word and applying the truths we learn to our lives. Our Bible studies will resume after our Fall Kickoff Sunday on September 16.

We have an exciting Children’s ministry program at New Heights! We believe the Christian education of our children in solid, biblical instruction is of the utmost importance. It can make a difference not only in our children’s eternal destiny but in those they affect during their lifetimes. We offer the following children’s classes held during our Sunday worship service:

Nursery: newborn through 4 years old

God’s Little Lambs: K – 1st Grade

Jesus’ Little Lambs: 2nd – 3rd Grade

Sonshine Kids:  4th – 5th grade
